1

Site survey and layout

Once you have talked to one of our team members, they will arrange a time to visit you at your property. A member of our team will survey the site, examine the yard and take note of the best place to build your new pool or spa. Your designer will take the time to discuss your vision with you, as well as any challenges or requirements, based upon your yard or where your house is located prior to creating a custom design that is tailored specifically to you.

2

Excavation

Once designs have been agreed upon and a contract has been signed, we will have your underground utilities located and verify that they are not running through the dig area. Our work can then begin excavation on your new custom pool, as soon as we have any permits or HOA approvals that are required. You will receive an estimated shedule for excavation and the other phases to follow directly from your Project Coordinator. You will also meet your Project Manager when they layout the pool so we can start the dig. This is typically the first major construction phase for your pool project.

3

Rebar and plumbing

Next, we’ll install the pool’s rebar which is made out of steel. This is one of the most fundamental aspects for the structure of a swimming pool. The rebar helps to support the concrete which would break up and create structural issues if not correctly held in place. During this stage, we also stub out all of the plumbing for your pool which includes all major plumbing and electrical components.

4

Gunite

Our expert team will then apply the gunite to form the structure of your pool. Gunite is a type of concrete that offers excellent longevity and stability which allows Backyard Paradise Luxury Pools to provide a lifetime warranty on the structure of your pool and spa to be free from leaks and cracks. Where traditional concrete is mixed in trucks and uses both large and small particles, gunite is only finer particles and is mixed with water directly at the hose nozzle during a very high-velocity application. This is actually a lot of people’s most exciting time after the excavation because you can truly see your pool take shape.

5

Tile and coping

The next step involves adding the materials you selected during the design phase to your pool. This includes the pool and spa tile, raised wall materials and the coping. Think of gunite as the cake and the materials and pebble as the icing. It’s what makes it pretty!

6

Decking

As we approach the final stages of the pool building process, we’ll add your pool decking to provide a place for gathering whether it be in deck chairs, patio dining sets, around a fire pit, or other outdoor living elements. Your decking and the pool water are the two items that people see the most when they step outside. Your designer will help guide you through the decision-making process and take some of the stress out of it.

7

Pebble interior

To add some texture, color and additional style to your custom pool, Backyard Paradise Luxury Pools will apply a pebble interior finish. It has stone aggregate incorporated into it which is much more durable than cheaper materials like plaster or quartzite.

8

Fill with water

Finally, we’ll fill your pool with water – and begin the startup process. That means that the only thing left is for you to call up your friends and family and schedule your first pool party! We will of course take you through a thorough pool school so you know exactly how everything functions as well as how to maintain and perform basic maintenance functions on your beautiful new pool.
